mtc are delighted to announce the acquisition of another high profile public sector client, Scottish Water, and the beginning of an exciting digital partnership. Tendering our professional services via the Public Contracts Scotland portal, mtc fought off competition from another 101 suitors to win the project.
The acquisition of such a client marks another notable milestone on our journey to becoming Scotland’s best digital agency and is a testament to the hard work, innovation and ambition of the company.
Scottish Water, trusted to serve Scotland
Scottish Water, accountable to the Scottish Government and the people of Scotland, play a huge role in our daily lives. They’re responsible for providing over 1.34 billion litres of clean drinking water every day, as well as disposing of 847 million litres of waste water daily. Trusted to serve Scotland, we count on their essential services to keep the water of Scotland flowing smoothly.
And in their endeavours to help the people of Scotland, Scottish Water decided that their online experience should encourage interaction with the public. In essence, they want a website with user engagement at its heart, with strong focus placed on making it easy for the public and key stakeholders to access the information they want quickly and easily.
The new website will place great onus on the use of signposted content to encourage self-service, whether the user is visiting the website on desktop computer or mobile device.
How we will lend our expertise
mtc are set to work closely with key members of Scottish Water’s in-house team to provide an aesthetic and user-friendly experience, alongside a structured set of designs implemented by our front-end developers.
We will be working with Scottish Water’s various user groups, both domestic and business, to gain an insight into their expectations and interactions with the website. With our research and analysis of users’ experiences along with Scottish Water’s requirements, we will map out the information architecture of the site, ensuring the right content is prioritised and promoted. And finally, comprehensive user testing will complement this work and will help us create a truly intuitive user interface.
The new website will help everyone access the information they need with the least amount of hassle. Whether that’s Jean in the highlands who wants to find out how to get her septic tank emptied, or it’s civil servant John who’s after some stats for his Minister’s next speech.
Very much a collaborative effort, this project is one that we as a company are very much looking forward to undertaking. We really get what the vision for the new Scottish Water website is, and will rely on our vast wealth of experience in developing digital solutions to help turn that vision into a reality.
