The Sandown name has been synonymous with Mercedes-Benz for over 40 years and remain a specialist Mercedes-Benz only dealer group with 9 sites across the south of England.

The Brief

mtc were challenged to take both the Sandown digital marketing and website to the next level during a period of agency change, helping to not only accelerate the company’s digital transformation, but also to ensure it was well positioned to meet changing customer needs in a new environment.

Our first step was to rapidly discover both the fundamental needs of customers and the nature of change within the automotive agency model.

To do this, we conducted multiple research sessions concurrently with stakeholders from different parts of the business, to understand how Sandown would like their platform work and how to drive a deeper level of engagement though their digital marketing.

This helped us to understand:

• Legacy technology challenges and how to unlock 3rd party systems to better serve Sandown
• The importance of serving customers with better information and site architecture that positively influences their buying decision.

Based on the insights drawn from research sessions, we designed and built a new end-to-end web platform.

This was specifically designed with no customer friction in mind. It comprises of 3 steps:

Seamlessly integrating all their essential tools such as Stock, Finance, Valuations, Finance Quotes, Servicing, Leads, eCommerce, Enquiry management and AI Generated Imagery and content to drive automation and save the Sandown team hundreds of hours in time.

The Sandown solution boasts

• A Javascript Nuxt framework allows us to build super flexible, green page speed metrics that gives Sandown their own custom look and feel but all powered by the Autonomy core engine which is evolving everyday.

• Auto Imaging (Part of CitNow) is fully integrated to deliver marketing ready vehicle imaging with consistency.

• BCA integrated to deliver part-exchange information which through Autonomy logic allows Sandown to create values based on their stock acquisition strategy.

Key Results

The new site has driven automation across the digital team, giving them a variety of high-performance tools that enable the team at Sandown to continually evolve the site and proactively deliver upon the websites analytics and consumer requirements.

The automation between key 3rd party systems and Autonomy along with AI features has given the Sandown team more time to focus on revenue generating work which is complemented by continuous updates and support through our dedicated Autonomy team.
